Mark R. Anderson

Mark fills a newly created position at LHB responsible for LHB’s internal client services group comprised of human resources, legal, information/design technology, marketing, office, and administrative services. As Human Resources Director, Mark was instrumental in positioning LHB to become a leader in engineering and architectural services. He brings 25 years of human resource management experience, 21 with LHB. He holds a BBA and an MBA from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Kim Bretheim

Principal - Housing Studio Lead

Kim Bretheim

Kim leads LHB’s Housing Studio. He has 40 years of architectural experience in multifamily residential design and was inducted into the Fellowship of the AIA (FAIA) in 2019. His award-winning designs include a wide variety of housing types including supportive housing, student housing, condominiums, townhomes, apartment buildings, and mixed-use developments. Kim is committed to creating and preserving affordable housing for all through sustainable design building practices and community design.

Rick Carter

Rick has led LHB’s focus on high-performance design since the early 1990s. He is recognized as an expert in sustainable design and speaks regularly at regional and national conferences on this topic. Rick works extensively on design for efficient resource use and occupant well-being, leading efforts for LHB to be visible experts in regenerative design and research. His projects range from single building to regional scales with the goal of greenhouse gas emission reduction.

Terri is fascinated with how people dwell in their homes, and she has made supportive and affordable housing design the focus of her 40-year career. Her expertise in sustainable design and construction includes research into the cost and quality of building materials, along with a special interest in making small spaces highly livable and comfortable. Her work is enriched by the relationships she has formed with clients that serve people at risk of homelessness.

His leadership skills help clients with strategic planning, city planning, real estate development, and Tax Increment Finance analysis. He is an Edina city councilor and secretary of Edina's Housing & Redevelopment Authority.

He provides a broad range of civil engineering services for pulp & paper, electric utility, mining, and manufacturing operations. Mike specializes in designing water, sewer, wastewater treatment, site development, stormwater management, and large-scale earth-moving projects.

Kevin Holm

Kevin, a registered architect in multiple states, coordinates project teams and facilitates clear communication between LHB, contractors, stakeholders, and owners. With over 20 years of experience, Kevin helps integrate client requests into the design to ensure client satisfaction.

Bob Lisi

Bob Lisi

Bob specializes in pipeline facility renovation and expansion projects, focusing on facility secondary containment and site civil infrastructure. He serves as an engineering and construction supervisor on pipeline expansion programs, upgrading terminals and adding mainline pump stations. His experience includes the design and project management of multiple, large diameter, API 650, oil storage tanks, mainline right of way restoration, material procurement, and fire protection system evaluation.

Joe Litman

As LHB's new COO, Joe is responsible for all business units and internal operations. He has over 30 years of experience in transportation infrastructure design and structural engineering with LHB. Joe's work began in bridge engineering and evolved to leading LHB’s Public Works, Structures and Survey Business Unit providing site, utility, roadway, bridge and survey design services throughout a multi-state region. He holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Lydia Major

Lydia works with clients and communities to create vibrant public, commercial, and residential places. She uses a collaborative design process to develop solutions that benefit the client, the community, and the environment. Her projects include community, education, park, trail, and transportation system planning, where her public engagement skills generate support and real solutions, as well as smaller public and private projects, where her focus on the details creates memorable experiences.

Troy Miller

Troy has programmed, planned, and designed education projects for over 35 years. His experiences and expertise has allowed him the opportunity to work on over 100 schools from coast to coast, but he believes his true understanding of teaching and learning has come in-part from his five siblings, all classroom teachers. Schools are evolving. Technology, student support services, safety and security are just a small sampling of the issues impacting planning and design.

Sara has been with LHB since 2006 and leads the Higher Education Studio. She believes in a team approach to design, understanding that a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives results in the strongest outcomes. Sara is actively involved in projects, from initial programming, to developing details and working with contractors during construction administration. She feels that this provides consistency to the process and helps build trust and respect.

Cynthia Poirier

Cynthia has over 30 years of architecture and interior design experience on a broad range of projects from large-scale government and corporate facilities to highly technical health care renovations. As part of the Government team at LHB, Cynthia is a leader on military projects, experienced with USACE, Navy, Air Force, Air and Army National Guard. She has served as a project manager, leading multi-discipline teams for the past two decades.

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Human Resources and has 10 years of professional Human Resources experience. With over 30 years of experience, Barry provides engineering and management services related to the transmission petroleum industry including hydraulic analysis of water systems, remedial investigations and corrective action designs, environmental management of waste streams, emergency response and readiness, and expert testimony.

Brian Santori

Brian has over 14 years of mechanical engineering expertise specializing in design of process, power and hazardous liquid and natural gas transmission piping systems. His knowledge of piping systems comes from a wide range of liquid and natural gas transmission studies and design for new construction, expansions/upgrades, and facility maintenance. He provides project scope development, estimating, piping system hydraulic analysis, piping design, pipe stress analysis, and construction support.

His extensive experience in the design and construction of shared use path systems includes DNRs, DOTs, Counties, Parks, and Cities.

For over 25 years Dan has provided civil engineering, specializing in hydraulic/hydrologic analysis of storm water quality and quantity control systems. He creates site plans, grading, drainage and storm water control for roads, parking lots, brownfield remediations, sanitary sewer conveyance systems, and water supply systems. Dan's services include specification writing, earthwork and rock quantity calculations, cost estimating, site review, permit assistance, and construction administration.

Jon Siiter

Jon designs and provides construction and investigation of bridges and structures. This includes new design, historic rehabilitation, and inspection of structures utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, post tensioned concrete, stone masonry, brick masonry and timber. His team designs haunched steel plate girder, flared continuous steel plate girder, rolled steel beam, steel truss, prestressed concrete girder, stone and brick masonry, and concrete slab spans for agencies.

Ryan Thorson

Ryan has over 28 years of experience in mechanical systems design including plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection. At LHB, his responsibilities involve project management and mechanical systems design. He has designed efficient systems for new facilities and has conducted numerous ventilation replacements and boiler upgrades that address the issues involved with working within tight phasing schedules, old buildings, and aged systems.
