Lake Superior College Health and Science Center

LHB assisted LSC to implement the second phase of their master plan by providing pre-design, design, and construction administration services for a $13 million Health and Science Center facility. The facility will consist of 50,800 sq ft of new space and 33,250 sq ft of remodeled space. LHB is designing the project to attain LEED Silver and to meet the State of Minnesota’s B3 Sustainable Guidelines. LHB developed the pre-design for this new Health and Science Center facility. Spaces were based on an outpatient clinic model; reorganizing nursing facilities into a hospital/nursing-center model to create a real-world environment for learning. Science labs will be restructured and reorganized for shared preparation and storage center space, thus maximizing square footage and equipment usage.
