The Winnipeg
St. Paul, MN
The Winnipeg development consists
of two mixed-use buildings located on
Rice Street in St. Paul. LHB is designing
the project for a partnership between
Legacy Management and Development
Corporation and sparc, a non-profit
community development organization.
As a key component of the Rice
Street revitalization. The Winnipeg
will provide an important amenity to
the community, setting the standard
for future high quality development
in the area. In addition, the buildings
and site incorporate sustainable design
principles focused on ensuring lifecycle
cost reductions, environmental
sensitivity and an improvement in the
quality of life for residents. The project
is one of eight to receive Minnesota
Green Communities funding in 2006.
The three story buildings will house 56
one, two and three bedroom affordable
rental units and approximately 6,500 s.f.
of commercial space. Enclosed parking
will be located on the ground floor for
residents while additional parking needs
will be met by small surface lots.
Project amenities include resident
lounges, secure outdoor patios and an
ideal site location providing access to
employment opportunities and public
transportation.
