Project Type: New Construction and Supportive Housing; Eagan, MN
Client: Dakota County CDA
Completion Date: 2010
Dakota County CDA worked with LHB to design Lincoln Place: a supportive housing for homeless youth. The 3 story brick-clad building sits above a level of parking. The site is in a suburban, master-planned redevelopment district near public transportation and commercial amenities. The 27,000 sq ft. project includes 24 efficiencies and one caretaker apartment. Offices, a conference room, and computer room provide space for support services for the residents. Other building features include a kitchen/dining area, fitness room, laundry facilities, lounge areas, a screen porch, and a gazebo. This LEED for Homes Gold-certified project addresses energy efficiency, water and resource conservation, healthy indoor environmental quality, on-site stormwater management, and long-term durability. Sustainable strategies include enhanced building shell insulation, an irrigation system utilizing stormwater run-off, FSC-certified framing lumber, dual-flush toilets, low-VOC products, and very durable finishes.
