US Fish and Wildlife Necedah Visitor Center

LHB was hired to provide architectural and engineering services for the planning and preparation of complete plans and specifications associated with the new visitor center. The scope of work encompasses the visitor center, environmental education and trails, outdoor classroom, and wildlife viewing platforms. Completed in 2011, the 11,800 square foot Visitor Center/ Headquarters provide office, lobby, exhibit and education space for staff and visitors to the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge is renowned for the Whooping Crane Nesting and Nurturing Program. A 784 square foot classroom building provides school groups with field focused educational activities. This project was designed to LEED Silver guidelines.
