Kirby Student Center Remodel, Phase I and IB
Project Type: Student Life Remodel, Duluth, MN
Client: University of Minnesota, Duluth
Remodeling this student life space on the campus required LHB to work with a CM at risk delivery method. The budget on this project was tight and LHB worked with the campus and CM to adjust scope and deliver a successful project.
Code requirements were an issue as the building had multiple deficiencies, LHB worked with UMD and the code office to identify what needed to be addressed in this phase.
There was limited head room and the floor to floor height was very tight for the type of space. A design combining ceiling clouds and open ceiling spaces veils mechanical and electrical systems while creating an open feeling.
