ProVation Medical, Inc. develops software for the documentation of endoscopic medical procedures. With the expansion of the health care sector, ProVation was required to grow at a pace that far exceeded their initial projections. The new 20,000 sq ft space was designed to accommodate the initial staff projections through 2001 with the ability to double in size within four years. As with most start up technology companies, the investment dollars are spent on the technology and not the work environment. ProVation’s commitment to create an inspiring and progressive space for their employees, as well as a desire to provide an energized space to “WOW” potential investors, dictated a minimal investment of $18.50/sq ft. Designed as if looking through an organic lens, the resultant architectural journey is analogous to the personal journey experienced in an endoscopic procedure. Materials, finishes, textures and colors were chosen to enhance this abstracted journey.
