Black River House
Project Type: Landscape Architecture; Black River Falls, WI
Black River House sits high above the river along a flat bluff. The landscape responds to the modern architecture with formal flat planes of stone and vegetation that extend from the cabin. A waterway of black beach pebbles carries stormwater away from the cabin, revealing the movement of water. All plant material is native to the bluff ecosystem, and is planted along both formal landscapes as well as interplanted within existing vegetation. River birch and natural black stone reflect the importance of the Black River in their color and beauty.
