Project Type: Cultural Landscape Report
Client: City of Sandstone
LHB was selected by the City of Sandstone to provide a Cultural Landscape Report for Robinson Park. With Robinson Park being on the National Register of Historic Places, a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) is an essential step in the preservation planning process.
The proposed CLR required the services of a qualified historic preservation architect and a qualified archaeology team. The CLR established preservation goals for the site, based on research, inventory, documentation, and analysis of the site’s characteristics and associated features. The CLR was completed based on the guidelines established in the National Park Service’s A Guide to Cultural Landscape Reports and Preservation Brief 36: Protecting Cultural Landscapes: Planning, Treatment, and Management of Historic Landscapes. The CLR will assist the City in its long-term management of the park site while developing preservation goals and addressing needed improvements that enhance safety, while ensuring the preservation of the site’s historic qualities and increasing the City’s access to preservation-based funding sources.
