USFWS Maintenance Building
Project Type: Maintenance Building New Construction, Detroit Lakes, MN
Client: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)
A new 5,900 SF maintenance building was designed for the Detroit Lakes Wildlife Management District. The building complements the previously completed visitor center and headquarters facility, also designed by LHB. The $1.4M project was completed in 2018.
The building was adapted to Detroit WMD’s site conditions, staff preferences, recent code standards, the Department of Interiors’ Sustainable Building and Compliance Tool Guiding Principles, and to achieve 30% savings over ASHRAE 90.12010 standards.
The project included the new maintenance building, sidewalks, access roadway, driveways, connection into the existing on-site utilities (water, sanitary, telephone/data, power, etc.), HVAC systems, fire protection, landscaping, utilities, and other improvements.
